The ALA has made a submission to the Community Development and Justice Standing Committee in relation to options for survivors of institutional child abuse in Western Australia seeking justice.
This submission draws on the experience of survivors in the civil litigation process, barriers to seeking justice, and the role of the District Court of Western Australia. Our submission highlights, in-depth, issues with efficiency in courts dealing with civil claims, and survivors experience with accessing the National Redress Scheme.
