Exposure Draft: Aged Care Bill 2023 (Cth)

The ALA made a submission in February 2024 on the Exposure Draft of the Aged Care Bill 2023 (Cth) (Exposure Draft of the Bill).
Our submission addresses a number of matters concerning the Exposure Draft of the Bill, including:
- the proposed and new compensation pathway;
- our analysis of the proposed Statement of Rights and the proposed Statement of Principles;
- current immunity provisions regarding restrictive practices; and
- the whistleblower protections framework proposed in the Exposure Draft of the Bill.
The Federal Government intends to introduce the final iteration of this proposed legislation into the Parliament in 2024.
