Aviation Customer Rights Charter
27 February 2025
The ALA has made a submission to the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts (Department) on the proposed Aviation Customer Rights Charter (Charter).
The Charter is designed to outline aviation customer rights and will be part of the future Aviation Industry Ombuds Scheme, on which the ALA made a submission last year.
In this submission on the Charter, the ALA has focused on:
- the need to see the final proposed model of the Aviation Ombuds Scheme, so that stakeholders can fully understand how the Charter will function within the Scheme;
- matters from the Charter that require clarification;
- what ALA members have identified is missing from the Charter; and
- the application of the Charter to real-world scenarios, for the Department to consider how the Charter would or would not apply to assist aviation customers.
