Country Fire Authority Regulations 2025

The ALA provided feedback to the Victorian Government on the proposed Country Fire Authority Regulations 2025 ('Regulations'). The ALA has many members who advise and represent Country Fire Authority (CFA) members in order to assist those CFA members in accessing their compensation entitlements.
In our submission, the ALA has contended that the Regulations require further amendment to facilitate the delivery of compensation entitlements to injured CFA members.
We have recommended the provisions in the Regulations concerning the assessment and delivery of compensation entitlements be improved in terms of time limits and transparency. Further, the ALA has recommended that new regulations be inserted detailing a CFA member's right to review decisions.
Replacement Regulations are due to be made in July 2025 and will commence in August 2025.
