Human Rights Act for New South Wales

On Thursday 23 October 2025 the ALA joined members of the NSW Alliance at NSW Parliament House in support of Member for Newtown Jenny Leong MP introducing a Private Member’s Bill for a Human Rights Act for NSW. The NSW Alliance brings together 90 peak and community organisations working across the state to strengthen the protection of fundamental rights.
The ALA have also signed onto an Open Statement calling on all NSW Parliamentarians to support the establishment of a public inquiry into a Human Rights Act for New South Wales.
