Life Insurance Code of Practice Review 2025

The ALA's submission to the independent review of the Life Insurance Code of Practice (Life Code) has now been published.
The ALA recommended targeted reform to make the Life Code's consumer commitments more concrete and enforceable, including tighter operational expectations around how insurers handle and progress claims and improved oversight mechanisms.
The Independent Review Panel is due to table their report by 30 June 2026.
