Inquiry into Racism, Hate and Violence directed at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People

The ALA submission to the Joint Standing Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs for its inquiry into racism, hate and violence directed at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people has been published.
In our submission, the ALA has emphasised the need for practical, properly resourced reform that addresses the real-world consequences of racism and discrimination, rather than responses that further criminalise, over-police or entrench disadvantage for First Nations people
