The ALA has made a submission to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee’s Inquiry into a Process to Review Bills for their Impact on First Nations Territorians.
In our submission, the ALA responds to the various options proposed in the inquiry’s Discussion Paper for allowing review of legislation to assess the impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Northern Territory, including establishing a statutory body or external advisory body through which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples could provide advice to the Legislative Assembly on proposed legislation.
