Abuse Law Special Interest Group

The ALA Abuse Law Special Interest Group is comprised of members who represent survivors of institutional child sexual abuse. The group works to protect the interest of survivors and ensure they have access to justice.

The purpose of the Special Interest Group (SIG) is to:

  • Represent the interests of ALA members and their clients to government and other stakeholders in matters related to abuse including historical abuse, institutional abuse and childhood abuse;
  • Develop, promote and respond to policies affecting the rights of individuals to obtain fair compensation for abuse offences;
  • Promote a wider social and legislative trend towards greater protection of abuse survivors interests;
  • Provide a forum for interested members to interact, share information and educate themselves and others.

ALA members can receive updates and information from this SIG. Please email [email protected] to be added to the SIG mailing list.

If you are interested in joining the SIG, please email [email protected].
