ALA thanks Victorian Attorney-General Jill Hennessy
17th Dec 2020
Attorney-General Jill Hennessy’s commitment to creating a fairer justice system in Victoria will be missed, says the Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA).
“As Attorney-General, Jill Hennessy worked to address many of the issues that concern ALA members and negatively impact vulnerable members of our community, such as workplace manslaughter, drug courts, voluntary assisted dying and public drunkenness laws,” said Australian Lawyers Alliance Victorian President, Jeremy King.
“It’s been a very difficult year and we appreciate Ms Hennessy’s support for the Victorian legal profession during the challenges we have faced trying to assist our clients during the extended lock-down.
“In her role as Workplace Safety Minister Ms Hennessy assisted to bring in changes during the COVID-19 lock-down that took the burden off injured workers and made a significant difference to these individuals.
“We thank Ms Hennessy for her service as the Victorian Attorney-General. She has been an effective and collaborative leader for our state and will be missed.”
