ALA welcomes appointment of new WA Solicitor General

The Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA) welcomes the appointment of Mr Joshua Thomson SC as the new Solicitor General of Western Australia.
Mr Thomson SC succeeds the recently appointed Chief Justice Peter Quinlan SC in this important office. Mr Thomson has a distinguished academic record and is recognised as an exceptional advocate who has appeared as counsel in many significant matters, especially in the last five years.
The new Solicitor General has also demonstrated commitment to ensuring justice for all, including those requiring pro bono assistance.
“All ALA members look forward to the continuation of the long tradition of the Solicitor General not only providing impartial advice to the State but also setting a standard for all lawyers acting on behalf of the WA government and its agencies”, said ALA State President, Graham Droppert.
The Australian Lawyers Alliance is a national association of lawyers, academics, and other professionals dedicated to protecting and promoting justice, freedom and the rights of the individual.
