Final report released on privacy reforms

The Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee (‘Committee’) has released its final report on the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024 (‘Bill’). This proposed legislation is design to implement some of the Federal Government’s promised privacy reforms.
The Committee has made nine recommendations detailing its suggested amendments to the Bill.
The ALA made a submission to the Committee regarding this Bill in October and our submission was cited in the Committee’s final report.
