Review of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 (Qld)

The ALA is now authorised to share a submission we made in February to the Review of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 (Qld).
In this submission, the ALA made several recommendations as to how whistleblower protections could be strengthened in Queensland, including the establishment of an independent Whistleblower Protection Authority or Commissioner.
Comprehensive protections for whistleblowers are essential to ensure that the rights of whistleblowers are honoured in accordance with international law and Queensland’s Human Rights Act 2019.
This week, the Honourable Alan Wilson KC delivered his final report for this review to Queensland Attorney-General the Honourable Yvette D’Ath, who will release it publicly in due course.
